First, I’d like to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Jess, and I have anxiety, ADHD, and PPD. I am the single mother of a beautiful 9 month old human, 3 and a half year old lab/weenie mix, 2 month old calico kitten, and 3 goldfish. As is likely made apparent by the themes of this blog, I have an obsession with all things oceanic and mermaid related. Currently, I am a full time university student with a full time job as a medical receptionist. I am working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as a fully online student, but I’m considering a change to a degree in Marketing. I’ve got a semester or two to decide, due to both majors sharing a majority of the same classes.
You may be wondering how I do it all. Then again, you could be thinking, “ok, and…?” Let’s just say, I’m managing to wade my way through the mess of my life with the assistance of counseling, medication, and a structured routine. Did you expect something along the lines of yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises? Well, I do these things, and more, intermittently, but sometimes you just need more to get by.
I will cover all of that in future posts. For now, I will attempt to stay on track. Forgive my wandering thoughts and words-it’s the ADHD.
My posts will likely range from stories about my experiences with domestic violence and miscarriage to some random thoughts I’ve been having. I would love feedback and comments on the things I share with you. This blog is really just meant to take the place of the “Trauma Narrative“ my psychologist/counselor suggested I write. I hope my blog provides you with some form of entertainment or education. My life may not be anything extraordinary or special, but it has been a wild ride for me.
